Dedusting System Technologies | Dedusting system for EAF - Electric Arc Furnace
The air pollutants produced by the EAF process can be mainly identified and divided in two categories:
- dust (heavy metal oxides)
- gaseous compounds: CO2, CO, nitrous oxides [NOX], volatile organic compounds, [VOC] and dioxins and furans
EAF modern de-dusting plants are usually composed by:
- a primary off-gas line, which receives the emissions directly from the furnace roof and elbow
- a secondary off-gas line, which collects all other emissions, produced during charging and tapping
With proper configuration and appropriate equipment it is possible to achieve dust removal efficiencies of 98-99% over the whole EAF production cycle.
The standard de-dusting plant configuration is shown here below. Other particular, tailor-made solutions, according to specific requests of final end users, are of course possible.
Revamping and modernization Projects of existing Dedusting systems installations may have different configurations, based on particular requirements to re-use existing equipment.
